 Claughton Manor House. The home of Sir William Jackson, and his son Thomas Hughes Jackson, the second mayor of Birkenhead. Designed by the architect Charles Reed, the Manor House was completed in 1846. Following the death of Thomas Hughes Jackson in 1930, the manor and its grounds were eventually sold to property developers who demolished the building in April 1933 and built St Seiriol Grove on the site. |
