yes! Paul G & sandgrounder are right! the original image is the wrong way round! west st on the left, Lord st as the main central route & Hoghton st to the right leading up to Holy Trinity church.

I've just found this site (v. interesting) and as a Southport lad looked at this pic. I think it's been put on 'back to front'. Apart from landmark buildings being in the 'wrong' place there is writing on the building bottom centre which as looked at in a mirror. The previous comment confirms this.
