Fairfield House, Ashcombe Road, Dawlish. EX7 0QQ (BfA listing of Ashcroft Road uncertain- old OS maps did not give the road name) (Not to be confused with Fairfield House at TQ7 2JX which is a nursing home). Quite variously described- Some time ago and probably at the time of this image: Private House Party and Conference Centre ("a Christian home") under the direction of The Rev and Mrs Frank Shaw, late of Lee Abbey. (Christian Guest House??). Also known as a Quaker Guest House run by Douglas Bishop. in more modern times: Fairfield House is the accommodation part of Oakwood College's 'twenty four hour' educational provision for young adults with learning disabilities. Fairfield House is run by Phoenix Learning and Care Limited. (www.oakwoodcourt.ac.uk)
