Site of cottages demolished by by bombing in the war. Bombs thought to be meant for the Anti Aircraft Guns on the Old Bedfont Recreation Ground , Now Marjory Kinnon School. Houses rebuilt prior to 1954.

Newell`s Forge converted in the early 50s to a General Store. I was told that the Mr Newell that ran it was a founder member of the Hatton Players.

White`s Shop. In the 1950s it was owned by Mr & Mrs Keiff who lived in Blenheim in Faggs Road , next to the Green Man. They retired to Malta when the road was widened & Hatton Cross Station built.

Accommodation Camp for George Whimpey employees who built the Airport. Most came from Ireland and went home for a month a year. Some married locally and stayed in the area.

Hatton Farm known locally as Whittington`s Farm. They moved in about 1956 to a bungalow built 1n the corner of one of their fields opposite the new Recreation Ground in Hatton Road.
