The tomb of William Huskisson (1770 to 1830), MP for Liverpool from 1823. He died on the 15th September during the opening of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway after being run over by the locomotive 'Rocket' while he was conversing with the Duke of Wellington. You can see the bomb damage from 1940 around the Washington Street area in front of the cathedral.
