Stratford Market - dealt primarily in vegetables. Closed in 1991. A depot for the Jubilee line now occupies the site, opened around 1998.

Canning Town Station, the second of that name, built in 1888. The footbridge visible was removed in the 1950s, access between platforms being via the main station building at street level, just off the bottom edge of the photograph.

Pretoria School. In the early 70's, this combined with Hilda Road school to create Eastlea Comprehensive. For Eastlea, this was used as the technology block, with included maths, computing (A single room with two computers in the late 70's), art, metal work, woodwork, pottery and motor mechanics.

Hilda Road School. In the early 1970's, Hilda Road and Pretoria School combined to for Eastlea Comprehensive. Hilda Road school was the main school with the language and science rooms within it. c1977, Hilda road was demolished to allow the connection of the two schools with a large space between them having a new science block constructed on the space.
