Ducker Cottages. I believe these housed the caretakers employed by Harrow School responsible for the maintenance of Ducker. The pool was, I believe, an adapted farm pond originally part of the nearby Sheepcote Farm. Harrow School acquired land on this side of Watford Road in the early part of the 20th C. in order to keep anticipated suburban development away from the hill. Much of it has now been developed, in any case, with the sprawling Northwick Park and St Mark's Hospital sites as well as the Westminster University campus. What is left of Northwick Park open space is shrinking steadily. The Ducker site was, at one time, being coveted as the site for the Hindu temple that eventually went to Neasden.

The name of this road leading from Sudbury was changed from its original name of Sheepcote Road (its continuation north of the Kenton Road bridge is still known by that name). The reason for the name change is uncertain. Continuing northward along this route would eventually reach Bushey Heath rather than Watford.
