This land became part of the Woodlands School during the late 1950s. This was used as a football pitch and still had traces of the very old ridge / furrow land usage. This made football quite entertaining! There was a tradition at Woodlands that at the end of the school summer term 6th formers who were leaving applied for temporary jobs at Masseys to undertake the annual stock taking during the Industrial Holiday Fortnight that followed the end of term. I spent my first 2 weeks at work doing this job.

This factory was taken over by Massey Fergusson who made tractors there until the factory was closed around 2000 (Date n/k). There was a tower block of offices added either late 1960s or early 1970s (maybe someone else will know when!. The whole site was razed when MF ceased operations in the UK. The tower remained for some time until it was blown up. The whole site is now given over to housing.
