epw041691 ENGLAND (1933). School at Monton off Park Road, Eccles, 1933

The school is Eccles Grammar School. I was a pupil there from 67-72. I believe the school was built in the 1920's and demolished early 90's and I think its last pupils left around 1977. The original building shown in the picture was of course added to over the years due to increased pupil numbers, especially on the top left corner. Prefabricated buildings were built in the "boys" playground, top right of the layout. The "girls" playground is on the left. A cycle shed was added to it on the NW boundary. The small structure between the two playgrounds had been removed by the time I became a pupil.
