The junction where Spon St leads off to the top right hand side, over the old bridge. 1960s-era flats are now on the corner here, but the old shops seen here still exist.

Broomfield Place - I think. the path through the embankment leads across to the Railwayman's Club in Spon End.

The Astoria cinema - it had very steep steps up to the doors, no consideration for wheelchair users when this was built!

Spent many an hour playing football on the Butts. Although, the clubhouse had been knocked down, no cricket pitch, tennis courts and a gym had been built by what looks like a bowling green. The rugby pitch was a football pitch with cycle track around it and an old tin pot stand. Local cup finals were usually played there....and of course, the Tech College had been built!!

My house is on the far laft of this photo, halfway up. It hasn't changed at all from what I can see although the Sports pitch area has altered. There is a Rugby ground there now and the now defunct Coventry Technical College Building, currently used as a Premier Inn
