Dalston Synagogue a grand palace of a building, which actually stood at Poet's Road, Canonbury, London N.5, opened in 1887, it close and amalgamated with Stoke Newington Synagogue, Shacklewell Lane, Dalston, London E8 in 1967.

This is a class photo (my dad is in this) taken before WW2 in the 1930s outside the entrance to Newington Green Junior School. Sadly this building was bombed in the war and theres already a new one being built on the ground in this 1949 aerial photograph.

This is a photo taken in early 1950s by my Father from opposite the entrance to Pyrland Road from Newington Green Road (notice the lack of cars parked there!)

This photo was taken by my father in the early 1950s I believe! He lived opposite this row of shops in Newington Green Road. The railings you see at the bottom are still there but the bus stop isnt!
