V1 struck between Stuart and Reynolds Road at 6.27pm on July 1, 1944. 16-36 Stuart Road and 9-17 Reynolds Road were demolished, There was a small fire. A further 50 houses were damaged by blast, including the front of a house blown in on Borland Road.

Old road bridge, collapsed in 1960, now just a walkway nicknamed 'Creepy Bridge' but given some love and attention during lockdown 2020 with a rainbow paintjob and communal garden at each end.

Waverley Park Mission Hall, built 1895 as church for local residents, the church nearby (St Silas) was built and consecrated 1903.

St Silas Church (CoE) built 1895, united with St Anthony (near Nunhead Green) in 1990. Original church knocked down ( bomb damage and ground surge). New church opened as St Anthony & St Silas in 2003.
