This section of canal was lost around 1917 due to problems of subsidence affecting Lappal Tunnel nearby.

the houses you see under constuction is the houses i lived in but i thought they were older than that? more like 1918. they were a row of houses that started at reservior to what was a boat yard then in later years a scap yard owned by j.p.monk.i lived two doors from the yard.we moved into harborne lane in 1971 behind my house were apple trees and pear trees.but before i was born in 1959 behind all the houses in the above photo was a reservior it was drained in the 50s its now home to a new school and new houses and a walk way from quinton to selly oak.but most has gone now for new developments but i still remember how it use to be so i still have that bye.terry foster.
