Sailing Barge Repertor. Length 26m Beam 5.7m Built in 1924 in Mistley, on the River Stour in Essex. Spritsail rig, flat bottomed steel hull, with 4,000 sq ft of sail, enabling fast sailing yet can be handled by only two crew. The barge is still in business and has its own web site. see http://www.repertor.com/ and facebook page. Available for charter including sailing for the day, minimum 8 passengers, maximum of 12.

As a former Aerofilms librarian I must admit this was one of my favourite photos in the archive. Given that it was taken from a moving 'plane it's astonishingly well composed, and is (of course) a very un-Aerofilms kind of photo. I'm lucky to have a hand-printed 15" x 12" print which one of the lab boys did for me - must get it framed . . . .
