There is a note on a now closed eBay sale of a model ship stating that the S.S. Lord Glanely was:'one of the last ships built by Wm Pickersgill & Sons, Sunderland in 1949 for Atlantic Shipping and Trading Co. Ltd., London'. So what happened to this vessel, looking in good trim in 1947? |

Lord Glanely The ship was part of the fleet of Tatem Steam Navigation Co Built 1947 by Wm. Pickersgill & Sons Ltd., Sunderland. 437 feet long. 5640 gross tons - Turbine steamer (Turbine by North Eastern Marine Engineering Co) The last steam tramp ever owned by the company 1960 she was sold to Gulf Steamships, Karachi renamed Mehdi, Sold to Pakistani shipbreakers and beached at Gadani Beach 13.9.1973 for demolition.
