' Looe Coastal Gun Battery - this and the two structures to the right. It was established in July 1940 with 2 x4in naval guns. By 1943 it had 2 x5.5in naval guns. Manned by 394 Battery of 557 Coast Regt until the Home Guard took over in 1943. Put into Care & Maintenance in 1944. '
