This is the start of Cuthbert St which was on the junction of Prince Consort Rd. My grandmother lived in an upstairs Flat on this corner (2 Cuthbert St) & downstairs was the 'Relief Office'. I think it was once a week when the unemployed men queued up along the back lane & into the rear yard of the Office. That was the day my Gran who was a reserved young woman then stayed at home because she hated having to go in & out of the house via the stairs leading into the yard & pass all those men. '
