Former "Little" North Western Railway line from Skipton North Junction to Morecambe. Opened in stages byut finkished as through route on 1st June 1850. Closed as a through route between Morecambe and Wennington to passengers on 3rd January 1966, then to freight on 6th June 1967. This section of the line remained open as a single line "long siding" between Lancaster Castle station and Lancaster power station, serving the latter until complete closure on 17th March 1976. '
