' South-east corner of Oxhey Golf Course, founded in 1912, which contains the 3rd green (3rd hole,376 yards long) and the teeboxes for the 4th hole (387 yards long). The course layout was altered in 1936, when these holes became the 15th and 16th respectively. However, this area was lost when building commenced on the huge LCC estate at South Oxhey in the immediate post-World War Two period. Oxhey Golf Course survived until March 1952, when it became the highly-prized South Oxhey Playing Fields, a valuable resource enjoyed by generations of inhabitants for more than six decades, including this correspondent!!
