Hebburn's 'Theatre Royal' on Lyon St which opened in 1897 & burned down in 1950. Next door on the corner of Prince Consort Rd can be seen the Ellison House Hotel that was badly damaged in the 1950 fire. I lived across the road about 50 yds along Lyon St & as a 6 yr old watched the fire burning. I'd been looking forward to a further episode of a series & never saw it unfortunately. '
