The Ellison House Hotel next door to the Theatre Royal which opened in 1897. The rear entrances were in Carr St. Stan Laurel's dad Arthur Jefferson was Manager at the Theatre in one period. Stan was part of the famous comedy act 'Laurel & Hardy'. '
