' Victoria Bridge Street, built 1839, replaced a 14th C bridge "Salford Old Bridge", which in turn was on the site of an old fording point- the ford of Sal ford. (Ford by the sallows). The 1839 bridge is single arch, sandstone, grade 2 listed. Alongside is an old illustration of the three arch Salford Old Bridge with Manchester Cathedral beyond. The Cathedral is outside the aerial image, close to the bridge but off to the right. '
