Derby Road Endowed School for Boys and Girls, opened by the Earl of Clarendon on April 21/22, 1884. Increasing numbers over the next 20 years meant a move for the girls to The Crescent/Lady's Close in 1907 and for the boys to Rickmansworth Road in five years later, to form the modern day Watford Grammar Schools.
