Reay Gear Works bought these sheds & started gear wheel & gearbox manufacturing. Later it became George Angus's gear makers & later still RW Transmissions. The factory started life in 1919 as Newcastle Shipbuilding Co but went bankrupt & the buildings were sold in an auction in 1925. '
