This is the WW2 Equipment Ammuntion Magazine Upton which stored anti-aircraft shell for defence guns in the Wirral and Liverpool area. Ammunition, mainly 3.7 inch calibre, was boxed and stacked in wall divided compartments inside the building. A full length corridor on each side enabled men use roller conveyors to move ammo to the loading platform outside the entrance for loading onto trucks.
