' Location of one of the town's annual Nov 5th bonfires & grand firework displays, Currently the site is the home of Lewes Borough Bonfire Society est 1853 and is used also by Nevil Juniors Bonfire Society est 1967 either a saturday just before or just after the 5th Nov.. Known as Landport Bottom it is currently owned by Lewes Town Council. It also at it's eastern end has some tumuli. The general site of the battle of Lewes, 12th May 1264, it is now Landport Bottom Nature Reserve. '
