' This is a house called Bonnington Brae, with a small cottage adjoining, recorded from the early 19th century and demolished around 1930 when two blocks of tenements were built on the site. The 1908 OS map shows the house as "Manse" with a church built just to the east of it. John Mackenzie JUNNER, SSC, lived there for a few years until he died in 1863. '
