Alfred Ernest Giles (my grand father) ran the Barkworth from 1941 to 1956.The pub was located on the corner of Barkworth Road and Millegde Street Only the east end of Barkworth Road remains and only two Victorian buildings survive today (2018).The the whole area was demolished in the 1970's. '
