' Tram terminus, later for trolleybus route 654 from Sutton. There was a passenger shelter here, one of only two in the Croydon area. Because of the 1 in 9 gradient of Anerley Road the Class B1 trolleybuses were fitted with coasting and run back brakes. Compulsory stops were also made when descending the hill. '
