' Hendon Brewery. One of the numerous independent breweries which were dotted all over London and Middlesex, this one was opened by a by James Robb in about 1855 and was later acquired by Arthur Crooke of Guildford who went on to buy several of local inns and taverns. The site was subsequently acquired by the Kilburn Brewery (Mitchell & Aldous), who were in turn acquired by Truman's. The brewery closed in 1959 and a Premier Inn now exists on the site, along with a rather blousey and oddly located Chinese restaurant and patisserie, which now seems to have closed down. '
