' The 'Silvertown Tramway' (with train!) which was the original line of the railway to North Woolwich in 1846; this was three years before the railway reached Woolwich on the south side of the river. But with the building of the Victoria dock with an entrance at its west end only, the 'main' line was diverted around the north of the new dock. The tramway remained to service the numerous factories and works along the north bank of the Thames until around the 1960s. '
