' This is the line of the old Troy Cut arm of the Grand Union Canal. It came off the main line of the canal to serve Troy Mill and continued West under the old Uxbridge Road to a chalk pit (here indicated by a small copse of trees) This extremity of the Troy Cut has long been filled in and can only now be discerned from above by crop marks.
