Post Office Factory. This is the original Birmingham Factory, which was opened circa 1915. Expansion to 3 additional sites (Sherlock St, Garrison Lane, Anthony Rd.) occurred later. There were Factory sites elsewhere in the UK. The role of the Factory was principally refurbishment of telecommunications equipment for example, telephones, telex machines and manual switchboards. '
