Queen St. South signal box, a standard Grest Western cabin of 167 levers. The shutters protruding off either end of the signal box at either end are certainly worthy of note. They were specially added and for a rather macabre reason. For many years in the gaol courtyard below to the rear of the cabin stood the gallows! The rear windows to the signal box were added in later years once the gallows had been removed. Queen St. South closed and was demolished over the weekend of 25th June 1966.
