D and W Henderson's Meadowside shipyard (previously established at this location by Tod and McGregor) seen here a few months after closing as a shipbuilding yard, completing their their final order "Inventor" for Harrison's launched 3 July 1935 (see the 1934 aerial for the pre-closure view). The yard was closed as part of the shipbuilders' National Shipbuilders Security (NSS) attempt to reduce capacity during the Great Depression. NSS placed restrictive covenants on any return to shipbuilding at this Partick site until the 1970s. It was to re-open briefly during the Second World War where a large number of landing craft for the D-Day invasion where constructed. The ship repair side of the operation continued operating the Meadowside dry dock until 1963.

The Moorpark Housing scheme was built 3 years before the aerial photograph in 1933, however by the time of the aerial photo in 1936 the scheme was already being referred to the better known name "Wine Alley", the scheme was demolished in the mid 1990s.
