Looks like the name of the ship is "Edinburgh Castle" and other pictures found on the Internet seem to bear this out.

Agreed - Edinburgh Castle. Built in Belfast in 1910. Distant shoreline is not obvious to me - could be Clyde estuary but not sure.

Other 'clues': Very clean paintwork - maybe after an annual docking, overhaul, etc. No sign of passengers anywhere - maybe heading back into service.

Union-Castle Line, built 1910. 13,326 tons and ... "The ocean liner, being declared not worth to tow back to England, she was sunk as an exercise target by gunfire from the armed trawler Cape Warwick, HMS Porchester Castle and HMS Launceston Castle, some 60 nautical miles (110 km) off Freetown."
