I was here from 1965_1970,been trying to locate my then best friend Janice Armstrong from Staley bridge anyone got any info my name was Angela Oakes then, also remember Joan Chadwick, Lynette muller,Christine Dalton,Kevin gained, Alan Millward,Richard Acton.

My father spent 18 months here in 1937-8 so he would have been here when these aerial photos were taken.

All the wards had names such as Justice and Gentleness and the children were only given cocoa to drink apparently. They always had brown bread, too!They wore grey sweaters with the initials WKCCH embroidered on.

My father remembers that visitors were only allowed once a month and any sweets or goodies brought by the families or visitors were shared out amongst the children.
