Avondale Square The view shows the school building, on the edge of the square, well. Avondale Square was between the Bricklayers Arms Goods Sidings and the Old Kent Road. Just beyond the Square stands the Old Kent Road Public Baths with, further along the road, the tower of Christ Church, Peckham, to the right of the gas holders. Avondale Square suffered badly from bombing during the war as can be seen in other pictures, in particular EAW000540 & EAW000645 from 1946.
