Stone Lodge Lane, present day Hawthorn Drive This is where Chantry Clinic is today. The end of this row of neat trees, just below the marker, still exists; as does the end of the lane that originally went from London Road to Stone Lodge Lane. Now, that last remaining section, is a short cut from Kingfisher Avenue to Hawthorn Drive and provides access to the Scout Hut.

Hi, just joined site. Mum and dad moved into kestrel road in 1954, greenfinch end. I remember sprites lane having tall hedges along the edge of the playing field. The lane led down to the brook and beyond to bel stead. I think there was a farm off spires lane approx where the gold torques were found, don't know its name. Fascinating photos.
