All this agricultural land is now under Manchester Airport runway.

This plot of land between the Warburtons and Harrisons houses was used by my Dad, Terry Morris as an allotment for growing vegetables during late 60's/early 1970s. Happy memories of digging up new potatoes, sitting amongst the rows of peas eating them, and playing with the bonfire in the autumn time burning off the garden rubbish. This area is now on the edge of the runway, but the junction with Woodhouse Lane is still there, in between 2 huge car parks.

This building was the corner grocery shop run by Mr Fullalove in 1960's/70's when I was a boy..previously run by two ladies. The shop was then known as the 'Top Shop' and was run by Misses Owen and Pearson.

Beginnings of the Fairywell Brook, which here formed the boundary between Ringway and Northen Etchells (later Wythenshawe). Ringway was incorporated into Manchester/Wythenshawe in 1974, though it retains its previous status as a civil parish.

Yew Tree Lane: closed to enable the development of the first stage of Ringway (Manchester) airport shortly after World War II. It formerly ran through to Hasty Lane near the Hale boundary, with a side road (Pinfold Lane) running into the centre of Ringway village, opposite the church (St Mary & All Saints, now closed except for special events) and the pub (originally the "Red Lion", now universally known as the "Romper" supposedly after a distinctive inn sign eighty or ninety years ago led people to give it the nickname of "the Romping Kitling".

Outwood Lane

Heyhead (the entire hamlet has now been obliterated as a consequence of the development of Manchester airport. The last remnant, a thatched cottage, was demolished in 2007, and all that remains is a small war memorial garden on the site of the former Congregational church. Hallman Lane bore the name of the Hallman family who farmed here for generations until the middle of the 20th century.)
