| Workhouse Cemetery
This is the Cemetery which in 1971 and 1985 parts were excavated and the remains of persons from the Workhouse were reinterred in Southern Cemetery. This was done due to the expansion of Princess Road/Princess Parkway. |

| WITHINGTON HOSPITAL - PREVIOUSLY Chorlton Union Workhouse was built in the 1950's.
In the 1870's an infirmary was added to the side of the workhouse. In 1910 the workhouse was renamed 'WITIHNGTON HOSPITAL' During WW1 it was known as 'Nell Lane Military Hospital' In 1948 it became part of the National Health Service. Today 2014 the original building is now converted to Apartments. |
