Ring O Bells Pub. Grandparents used to run this in the 1970s.

My wife and I ran it from 2008 - 2011. The Pubco who own it charge impossible rent so no-one can afford to stay there for long now. Since ourselves, no-one has managed more than two months!

Such a shame for such a wonderful, historic pub.

As a child in the 60's I lived in 13 Brook Street, Howley and when playing in the street I always knew the time - I only had to look up to the clock on the Parish church! Attending the Parocial school we had a close connection to the church. I never did find out if there was a tunnel under Church Street connecting the church and Oliver Cromwell's 'house'!!

My grandad used to live on Brook Street but it was probably in the 1920/30s
