This is more likely a gas-filled balloon. There is no sign of any gas bottles or a burner. Hot-air ballooning as a sport didn't get going until the 1960's.

EAW050873 is of Great Paxton in Cambridgeshire and this is likely to be close but I can't locate it and it's neighbours.
