Howe Wood was used to store ammunition ready for D Day. The army claimed to have 1/4 million tons stored there and I can remember large numbers of Bren Gun Carriers going along the narrow lanes as the preparations were being made for the invasion.

I think these are Boeing B-50 aircraft from the 97th Bomb Wing, they where deployed to RAF Mildenhall April - June 1952

I think you are correct that they are B50s as several wing tanks are visible and these were not deployed on the B29
