 Trolleybus at the terminal of route 630, one end of London's longest trolleybus route. The other end, 14 miles away, was at Srubbs Lane Harlesden and to which the destination blinds on the buses directed passengers to "Near Willesden Junction". The other trolleybus route to pass by West Croydon station was the 654 which ran between Sutton and Crystal palace. This route (654) was, along with the Bexleyheath routes (696 & 698), the first to be converted to diesel buses in March 1959. The reason given was that Carshalton depot was operating 23 year old class B1 buses - the oldest on the system. |
