An English Third Rate of 74 guns and 1809 Tons B.N. 177 x 48 ft. "Cornwallis" was launched in Bombay Dockyard on 12th May 1813, undocking on 8th February 1855 as a screw ship of 60 Guns. The Hulk of "Cornwallis" saw service as a jetty at Sheerness from 1865. Renamed "Wildfire" Base Ship in 1916 on succeeding as General Depot Sheerness.
