Turning and termination point at of London's first trolleybus service which was operated by London United Tramways [LUT]. Naturally this was route no 1 which began service on 16th May 1931 and was operated by A1 and A2 type English Electric 6 wheeled double decker buses nicknamed Diddlers. Under LT this became route 601. Tram route 67 continued to run through the junction here until converted to trolleybus route 667 on27th October 1935.
