Ellar Car: Ellar Carr Mill was built by Joseph Harrison late 18th/early 19th Century. The water powered mill produced cotton goods, but later changed to worsted and finally closed in 1991 After 1830 used entirely for worsted spinning. After 1884 two sheds built; mill rebuilt entirely as three-storeyed twelve-bay steam-powered building (designed by J Robertshaw and Son, Bradford); and a crenellated boundary wall with office controlling site access constructed. Power system remodelled 1901 with addition of new engine and rope drive. The Mill is now a residential development- converted into flats and houses in 2000. Ellar Carr Mills is a Private Site and the public have no known right of access
