Saturday morning roller skating sessions, in the early to mid 1950s are my only memories of this building. In retrospect, I am sure that it must have served other purposes at this time - perhaps dancing? Was this before or after the billiards? I can't imagine billiards tables being moved out of the way and then replaced just for a kids' roller skating session. Hopefully other contributors will be able to add some clarification. |

Further to my earlier comment, my brother remembers the Saturday roller skating sessions well and has reminded me that the building was called the Carlton Ballroom. |
