Northenden railway station on the Liverpool (Central)-Warrington (Central)-Stockport (Tiviot Dale) railway line - passengers services ended as part of the "Beeching cuts" in 1964 and the station was subsequently demolished.

Longley Lane - the field still then existing to the south is one of "the three long leys" marked in a mid-17th century map of the Wythenshawe estate which appear to have given the road its name.

What still remained of Kenworthy Hall. The site of the old hamlet of Kenworthy is now submerged under the M60/Princess Parkway intersection.

The Royal Thorn pub, which took its name from the old farmstead which used to be almost opposite it, where the Mormon temple now stands. The farm was very old, mentioned in documents from the late middle ages as "Regel", which became "Ryle" and thus "Royal". The pub - a classy black-and-white timbered building - built in the '30s was in fact renamed "Royals" but was demolished in 2001 to make way for a peculiarly ugly office block which, as some sop to past heritage, still bears the same name.

BENCHILL estate - named after Benchill (originally Benchall), a large house off Woodhouse Lane which was demolished in the course of the early housing development in the 1930s.

"Baguley Bottoms" woodland, following the course of the Baguley Brook which was the boundary between Northenden parish and Baguley township, which was in Bowdon parish.
